چکیده
Abstract Traditional tree management is laborious and costly, thus this work aimed to study the performance of two different types frond cutting saws (reciprocating saw vibrating saw) examine on five date palm varieties. Four parameters were examined, including time for a single frond, power needed productivity expressed as tree/h, vibration conveyed worker’s hand. A field experiment was designed according nested randomized complete block design, varieties main plot type sub-plot. Means compared using least significant differences (LSD 0.05). Results indicated that Bream variety required cutting. The reciprocating exhibited efficiency in saving cutting, while took significantly longer frond. highest number fronds cut one hour recorded variety, again higher than other studied Moreover, achieved one, indicating almost three times more saw. Development of red date palm weevil Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier) was evaluated on 4 popular cultivars of date palm, viz., ‘Khalas’, ‘Sukkary’, ‘Khasab’, and ‘Sillaj’ for 2 consecutive generations. The weevils reared on ‘Sukkary’ showed significantly better growth expressed in most parameters such as length, width and weight at larval, pupal and adult stages. Significantly greater numbers...

This paper describes an investigation on the use of a new composite construction material composed of plaster, sand, crushed gravel and date palm fibres of waste agriculture peels, having mechanical properties potentially useful in technical domains. Thermal conductivity and some mechanical and physical properties are investigated. The results showed that the incorporated vegetable fibres chang...

Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers were used to analyze genetic stability of the somatic embryogenesis-derived regenerants (R1-6) and mother plant in Iranian date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) cultivar Khanizi. Total genomic DNA extracted from in vitro fresh leaves of regenerated plants and mother plant was amplified using 10-mer oligonucleotide Fermantas primers. Four primers of...
متن کاملPalm Date Fibers: Analysis and Enzymatic Hydrolysis
Waste palm dates were subjected to analysis for composition and enzymatic hydrolysis of their flesh fibers. The fruit contained 32% glucose and 30% fructose, while the water-insoluble fibers of its flesh consisted of 49.9% lignin and 20.9% polysaccharides. Water-insoluble fibers were settled to 55% of its initial volume in 12 h. The presence of skin and flesh colloidal fibers results in high vi...
